Jack Daniel’s JD Roots Joins The Party

With an ethos for championing the best of all things local and home-grown, JD Roots joins the party for this year’s Land of Kings.  Continuing Jack Daniels’ long standing commitment to music, they take over Dalston’s brand spanking new music venue, Birthdays, slapping on a worthy line-up of East London talent, honouring our culturally on-point manor. Once an old, discarded lonely retail-unit, Birthdays has been reinvigorated and transformed into a one-stop split-level fun-factory on the strip.  For Land of Kings, expect to be knocked senseless by infectious indie-electronica from Trophy Wife, enigmatic three-piece Is Tropical’s bass-heavy, beat-pop and the jangling indie-melodica of Virginia Wing. They’re joined by O Children’s melancholy goth-rock, Maria Minerva’s disorientingly ethereal dance-pop and Fever Dream’s swirling shoegaze.  Later, get down to the rhythms of Kwes joining forces with Micachu as ‘Kwesachu’ airing their new Mixtape Vol.2, and Trevor Jackson reminding all why he’s always a floor-filling force to be reckoned with.
