Don Letts

Don Letts’ story is one inextricably linked to the development of music in the UK. From Acme Attractions clothing storeowner, to DJ at the Roxie nightclub, Letts insinuated dub and reggae into the burgeoning punk scene of the late 70s. It was this role that saw him feature on the front cover of The Clash’s Black Market Clash, an association that in turn would lead to him setting up the group Big Audio Dynamite with Mick Jones. Musician, DJ, filmmaker, radio personality, Letts is one of our nation’s lesser-known icons. Currently presenting his Crucial Vinyl show on BBC 6 Music, you can be sure of some rare gems surfacing when this man’s in session.
