Rumble in the Jumble #2

Next year may seem like a netherworld in the distant future, but get your diaries out kids for something extra special – AND for a good cause. On Saturday January 26th, Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club will play host to The Music Circle‘s ‘Rumble In The Jumble‘ #2. What’s this, you say? Well, essentially it’s your average jumble sale, only WAY better.

Various celebs will be donating items from their sartorially on-point wardrobes, so instead of fusty moth-eaten knits that smell like talcolm powder and soap, think ravishing one-of-a-kinds from the likes of Bat For Lashes, Jessie Ware, Fearne Cotton, Lauren Laverne, Daisy Lowe, Alison Mosshart, Anna Calvi, Charlotte Church, Radio 1’s Gemma Cairney, Annie Mac, Stooshe, Lucy Rose and many more.

Oh, and don’t worry there’ll be tonnes for the boys too, with donations from The Vaccines, Wretch 32, Toddla T, Foals, Miles Kane, Benga and even a certain Marilyn Manson.

Plus plus plus there’s also a record stall assembled from DJs and bands’ personal collections – The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Erol Alkan, Friendly Fires are amongst those donating choice vinyl – LOK fav Andrew Weatherall is even donating a 90s record box.

To top it all off there’ll be a pop-up retro hair salon from Lipstick & Curls, a nail bar, a stylist’s corner, tea, cakes, and DJs all day long. All you need to do is turn up on the day with three quid and a bag of jumble to donate, and then it’s into the fray to sniff out those bargains like a hound-dog on ritalin.

The sale is in aid of abused women in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Oxfam’s Get Together for International Women’s Day on 8 March 2013.
