After paying his warm-up dues as a d’n’b DJ alongside Fabio, Grooverider and Peshay, Tayo set up Friction with fellow members of the breakbeat elite, Adam Freeland and Rennie Pilgrem, and watched the club mushroom into a focal point for the UK breakbeat sound. He’s got more credentials than an ageing professor, founding Mob Records in 2001 – releasing music by Stanton Warriors and Kevin Beber among others, running the Kiss100 breakfast show for 5 years, and co-hosting Radio 1’s ‘In New DJs We Trust’. He’s done the rounds at Fabric, The End (RIP) and Ministry, working alongside a whole host of kings of the night such as Carl Cox, Layo & Bushwacka, Hybrid and Lee Burridge. Expect to enter his bass-heavy jungle of beats, never to return.
